103 final project proposal
The initial idea I had was to build 3 model houses, one from each of the three areas of Rilao. The houses would be made of bolsa wood or another material. The goal was for the models to be a method of looking into the ways of life of the different types of people in Rilao.
Talking to Alex, the 3 model idea wasn't quite ideal, instead i’m planning on build 1 house from one area and focusing in on the lifestyle of that type of people. In the attempt to incorporate a narrative into the project, I will supplement the model with a short bible detailing the life of peoples in this area.
Between the model house and the bible, I’m hoping to detail the lifestyle of a portion of Rilao and how a house can influence a persons life to work in a certain way. The bible will primarily be used to describe life outside the immediate house. The neighborhood relations and the greater neighborhoods relation to Rilao as a whole.
UPDATE:
To help incorporate the story more into the physical design, I could build a fairly large model
( maybe 1-1.5 feet tall ) and then project images of Rilao that I will build in photoshop from images of LA and Rio combined. This will help give a viewer a better sense of the world without having to read into the bible as deeply.
